- Decide when an AI impact assessment is needed and scope and document an AI system, its purpose, data, decisions and life cycle
- Identify affected stakeholders, including vulnerable groups, and plan proportionate consultation
- Assess privacy, safety and operational impacts, linking to privacy impact assessment practice
- Assess fairness, discrimination and human rights impacts
- Score inherent risk, evaluate control effectiveness and determine residual risk against risk appetite
- Prepare an impact assessment report and risk treatment plan with approval, conditions and monitoring
